Das Williams Speaks at General Meeting

Supervisor Das Williams gives talk to Surfrider

First district County Supervisor, Das Williams gave an excellent and enlightening talk to our June General Meeting. He highlighted serious challenges that face all of us, especially in the coastal community from climate change and other issues locally. Hopefully Surfrider can work with Supervisor Williams and the rest of the Board of Supervisors and other state and local officials to preserve our environment and make the planet a better place for now and future generations. Join Surfrider Santa Barbara chapter for our June 15 General Meeting and social hour . Meet at 7:00PM at the Watershed Resource Center at Hendry's Beach (Arroyo Burro Park). The meeting is free and open to the public and, as always, there will be pizza and light refreshments

Our guest speaker will be Das Williams, currently serving as our First District County Supervisor. He is a UCSB graduate who has served as Santa Barbara City Councilman. Prior to his recent election to County Supervisor he served as our district's representative to the State Assembly from December 6, 2010 – November 30, 2016 . He has been a strong supporter of coastal preservation and can often be found surfing at various spots around Santa Barbara County.
