Join Surfrider Foundation Santa Barbara Chapter on August 15, 2019, 7 PM at the Watershed Resource Center at Hendry's Beach for our General Meeting and Mixer. We’ll hear from guest speaker Morgan Visalli, project scientist at the Marine Science Institute at UCSB who is working with a team of researchers to build a real-time whale detection system in Santa Barbara. The aim of the project is to reduce the risk of large cargo ships colliding with endangered whales in the Santa Barbara Channel. As usual, the meeting is open to all, free, and will include pizza and light refreshments.
