The Fourth of July is coming up this week and if you’re lucky, you’ll be celebrating for the long weekend! As you enjoy the holiday and the summer weather, make sure that you’re thinking not only of our country but also of our environment and what you can do to keep your celebration litter-free.

With that in mind, Surfrider took the first step and put together this awesome beach cleanup. Join us, and spend the very last part of your holiday volunteering at the cleanup! Party-goers can leave behind tons of trash, but you can help prevent it from becoming marine debris by joining this local event.

Location: Meet near the restrooms by the bus loop at the foot of Stearns Wharf, at the intersection of State St. and Cabrillo St.

We’ll gather at 6pm to provide you with instructions, buckets, and gloves before cleaning up East Beach. After the cleanup, go treat yourself with the any of the great restaurants on Stearns Wharf while enjoying a beautiful sunset view.
